Transitional Pieces From Rails

Autumn still feels like a long way away with this super hot weather we are currently experiencing in Cape Town, but I love planning for a new season wardrobe refresh and its around Jan/Feb that we receive Pre Spring Summer drops from our brands. This is always a great delivery for us as even though its for Spring/Summer in the Northern hemisphere it often consists of knits and layering pieces that will easily take us from Summer through to Autumn over the next couple of months.

Our edit of the Pre SS22 collection from one of our favourite brands for cool, casual, easy-to-wear pieces, Rails just landed in store a couple of weeks ago and there are some fantastic transitional knits and tops that will be perfect as the weather starts to cool.

  1. Josie Ribbed Knit cardigan in black - Cardigans are really having a moment and no matter the time of year its a handy piece to have in your wardrobe.  This super soft, rib knit button-up from Rails feels elevated enough that you could pair it with a nice satin slip skirt for a night out but also relaxed enough to pair with jeans and sneakers come the weekend. We are trying to get more stock of this style so if your size is sold out please contact us.
2. Ariana Cotton Blend Blouse  - This is such a pretty top in a crisp white cotton poplin with a high neck, ruffle detailing and pleats from the shoulders down to the chest, it feels so romantic!  I love this paired with some straight cut distressed jeans for look that is elegant yet edgy and it also looks beautiful layered under crew neck cashmere sweaters which is perfect for winter.
3. The Claudia Striped Sweater - I love a striped sweater particularly in a classic dark navy and white colour way like this one. The Claudia is a funnel-neck style with a relaxed fit through the body and rib-stitch knit detailing make this cotton and wool-blend knit so cozy and chic. It’s perfect for throwing over the shoulders on cooler Summer evenings or pairing with jeans and sneakers come Autumn.
